So I hook up one 360...video and sound works. I unplug it and plug in the same cables to a second 360....no video or sound. This one is out of warranty.

Anyone know what might need to be done to bring it back to life? I haven't tried to connect a controller to it yet. When I boot it, the green light comes on and everything seems normal...just no A/V signal.

I'm using the VGA(RGB computer monitor) cable with RCA sound. Like I said...it works with the other Xbox with no issues. The non working Xbox was manufactured August 2006.

That doesn't sound good. Have you tried the original cables for sh!ts & giggles?

Here is the 360 Support page for no video/audio but I don't think it resolves your issue.

Microsoft's 360 support is the same kind of support you can expect if you called them up for help with XP. They give you a ton of simple answers/suggestions with no real content.

It almost seems as though a cable is loose inside or something...

I totally plan to. I'm just wondering what I should be looking for or if anyone knows what I should try to fix this.

I took it apart and everything looked normal. Interesting the way they come apart and go back together...despite the overheating problems, they've done some real design engineering to reduce common computer problems...they're just using a small form factor and chinese labor...it's gonna have problems. :p

I red up on different fixes and tried the 8 penny fix last night. It went from the stated symptoms to RROD with no vieo or sound. I'm not sure what happens when you get a RROD normally. Do you get anything on the screen or any A/V output normally with the RROD?

The subcode I thought I pulled was 0111, so that's no help unless someone knows what that means.
