This piece of shit, breaks. on me every other month, and im forced to buy another one to communicate.

the wire shorts after some use, i play my xbox for about 2-3 hours on Live! at least every other day. i've very careful with it,i place it down in the cabinet when im done. there is no reason for this wire to short like this,unless for poor manufacturing materials.

the reason i know the wire is shorting is because if i jiggle the wire is works, and or if i pinch it in the area i circled in the picture, it works.

sorry for rant, im just tired of spending $20 for a mic every other month,i need a new mic,but the wireless mic, i here so much complains about it. i guess all go get another damn mic that will break in 2 months again!.:thumbsdown:

user error.

unlike the actual consoles, I don't know 1 person who has had a mic break. My pre-launch one is still working just fine.
 
We have 2, and no issues over the last 8-9 months.

My bro had the wireless and it is indeed a POS. Since you are having so many problems with the standard, try NFL headset?
 
Mine works fine except for when I step on it or my daughter takes the cover off the mic.
 
I have three, all working, i can definitely send you one cheap if you want one.

im very careful with it and still that same area always shorts out.
 
May I suggest getting an extended warranty where you buy it if they do offer such a thing that way if it breaks you get an easy replacement.
 
I thought MS did a good job of packaging the Mic with enough accessories that they are very easy to come by without having to actually buy one.

That same part on my brother's 360 headset also broke recently. I think he got some third party one to replace it.
