Xbox 360 Media Center Extender

Ok, my media center extender is up and running, however I cannot get visualizations to play during mp3s. Looking online, I need to go to "Tasks" then "Settings" then Music, however, there is no option for Music. Any ideas?

That is correct. I also discovered this. Xbox 360 Media center extender can't do visualizations while playing music. Only PC's running stand alone media center have the visualization options while playing music. It sucks. I know.....

If you want to have visualization on the 360 while playing music, don't use media center on the 360. Use the media connect to browse to your hard drive on your PC and play music directly from the media blade of the console.

Yup, media center extender does not do visualizations. it is essentially a remote log in of an extender user (you'll notice there an MCX1 user folder in documents and settings). Though, I don't know why they couldn't have it doing visualizations if it's streaming video anyway. If you really want visualizations you can use the player through the 360's dashboard.

ok. thanks! I can use the 360s dashboard, but I want to be able to save playlists. hmmm...

I can't remember anyway to save playlists using the console, but it'll certainly play the playlists you've shared through WMP.

Yes, that's what I do. Just create/save the playlists in WMP because it's 10x easier than fumbling with the remote, anyway.

cool. Also, a sweet program called MusicBridge will create WMP playlists from iTunes, since that is what I use on my pc. Thanks for all the help!
