This thing keeps getting better and better.

Now I can plug my iPod into XBox 360 and listen to music off the amp thru a pure digital connection, and use a remote to change songs, volume, etc. Add in the fact its a Media Center Extender...wow total pwnage! The fact Sony has resorted to calling it 'Xbox 1.5' and have yet to mention anything about online/media center strategy tells you they are scared!

That's killer.

xbox 1.5? Yeah...far from it. I think the PS3 will be great...but c'mon...the Xbox is going to be right there with it.

Umm, not sure but methinks It'd be pretty stupid not to support the plethora of WMA devices out there. My guess is, if you plug it into a Windows PC and it pops up under Windows Media Player as an audio device, then XBox 360 should support it.

They added iPod compatibility for the legions of us brainless masses who buy overpriced underpowered electronics because they are white and shiny and cool-looking.

Nope, it will read any digital media. Have a 1GB USB drive laying around that you don't use? Load it with tunes and plug it in, Xbox360 will play them.

So I could plug a USB Mass Storage Device compliant digital camera into it and upload pics if I wanted?

of course, they are aiming for xbox to be a true media center, one step up from a htpc with media center edition windows (it can play console games).

I believe that's the plan. WinSuperSite.com has a good write comparison and articles on Xbox360 and PS3.
