XBOX 360 Internet Hookup

I got my XBOX 360 last night and I really want to set up XBOX Live. I have DSL and its wireless. Here is the problem I tried hooking up my Linksys Wireless G Portable USB Adapter but it wont connect. I dont have any ethernet outlets in my room and our router is hooked up downstairs, is there a way that I can hook up XBOX Live from my computer or any other way? Thanks in advance

also look at a workgroup bridge. Its very small and has a ethernet and wireless port.

Lots of people used the linksys one.

You just configure any wireless security on it and then plug whatever ethernet device you have on the ethernet port.

xbox<-cat5 cable->WGB<-wireless->Accesss point.

Someone told me that I could use an open ethernet in port on my computer and use internet sharing and plug a cat 5 cable to my xbox and have internet. How would I go about doing this? Is a Cat 5 Cable the same as the etherent cable that came with my xbox 360? Or am I totally off? Thanks in advance
