XBOX 360 Hacked

Still, you could hook a PSone to the front of the TV and a xbox360 to the back of the TV. Place a DVD labed "xxxxx360 game" in the PSone and turn it on. Show it spinning. Now show it on the tv. Hide the fact that the video is really coming from the back of the TV from a real xbox360 with a retail copy of the game.

You get the idea...

It's kinda like how the Windows XP on a IntelMac video was. It looked real, and I didn't believe it was fake, but there certainly were many ways that it could have been faked. The real proof came when the details were released that let others duplicate it.

And no, the team decided not to release a hacked FW. The security details are proof itself. The team advocates hacking, not piracy

Well, if it's true, they're stupid. Since they apparently have a thread on their 'research', it's going to be duplicated, and they're going to lose out on hundreds, if not millions of dollars.

But i don't believe it.

Now let's see him play it on Live.

It'll probably work fine, from the description they gave the game itself is unmodified. They just modified the DVD's firmware to report DVDRs as 'official' XBox 360 discs.

Well at least the good news for MS would be, when they release their HD-DVD drives, they can lock down the firmware and fix this oversight.

Anyone find it funny that they were playing the 360 on a Sony Tv?

Well, I for one, if I was attempting to hack a game system, i wouldn't go through the hassle of bring the 360 to another room to hook it up to a hifi system. Having a tv there could save time (and the fact that i'm lazy as hell probably doesn't help either).

Maybe, but with all of the little, stupid mistakes made with the original XBox's security I doubt they'll be able to keep the 360 locked down.

Well the guy who "maybe" did this, Maybe did the same thing for the original xbox and never released it. This is very different from the xbox hacks and modchips. With those you could run unsigned software, like xbox media center for example. With this hack it will let you run backup games, but not unsigned software. Of course that is why most people want a modded 360 anyways.
