Something relatively simple, preferably without needing to use both thumbsticks at the same time (she hates FPS control schemes).

The only game I've found is dynasty warriors but I grow bored of that really quickly.

Any suggestions?

"Crash of the Titans" and "Crash Mind over Mutant" - man, I love those games! And the co-op is really nice! Plus one of the people can piggy-back into the other person's toon (looks cute! :p). Highly recommended

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. It can be played as a button-masher, but allocating stats and using powers add depth if desired. It was in the holiday bundle last year, so there should be lots of used copies around.

If you're just looking for a game that's cheap with limited up-front investment, get on Live and shop around the marketplace for an arcade game. (be sure to have some points in your account before hand) It'll be fun because you can let her pick a game, download the trial and see if you like it....then decide if you want to buy it.

Same thing goes for full games too. You can download demos from there for free and give the games a try before heading to the store (or fleabay) to see if they're worth paying for.

Schizoid is the ultimate co-op game, and the controls are simple as can be (left thumbstick only, no buttons). However, it gets pretty difficult and it may even start arguments because each player relies on the other to protect them.

VP has coop in that you can have 2 controllers controlling the game IIRC.

VP has a lame form of coop, VP:TIP has real coop where each player can control a control circle or whatever. That said, TIP has a lot more too it and it just seems..I dunno, messier? You don't really know what you need to do to progress in TIP as much and the original Viva Pinata you do.

Anyways, the original is my girlfriend's favorite game, so you should get it for her anyways. She also likes Beautiful Katamari, but again, no coop. Castle Crashers was a good suggestion too.

Dude he needs 2 more girlfriends before he can properly play Left 4 Dead co-op.

Shouldn't be a problem.

I kid I kid. She loves castle crashers so that should hold us over for now. I appreciate all the suggestions.
