so, my xbox 360 already crapped out once, giving me the red ring of death on the power button. i sent it to M$ and they replaced it free of charge.

now it crashes very quickly on most games but i dont have the red lights. i bought GTA4 a month ago and now i cant play it anymore past the title screen.

how can i get it fixed AGAIN if its not showing the red ring?

im never buying another microsoft hardware product.

:) This is one reason why I haven't bought an XBox, or a console in general. A number of my friends that have 360s have had to replace/repair their units... one friend went through three of them before getting one that lasted more then a few months.

How old is the unit? You could try contacting Microsoft again and see what they say. If the unit isn't too old and you happened to buy it on a credit card you may have some warranty extension options you can take advantage of. Check your card holder agreement or call the credit company.

Otherwise, you may just need to take it in for repair and pay out of pocket.

I know that you shouldn't have to do this in a properly designed product, but you could do what I did.

Run the unit with optical drive horizontal (seems to provide the best cooling and doesn't tend to scratch up discs). Shoved in 2x thin 50mm fans (one sucking in fresh air from the bottom of the unit, the other forcing air through the CPU HS), used cardboard to shroud the HSs and have a small 60mm fan drawing out the hot exhaust air from the back of the HT cabinet. All hooked to a SPST switch and a small DC wallwart.

Was a RROD return unit and now its been running marathon sessions of The Darkness, Dark Sector, GTA 4, etc. without a hitch.
