Of the four people I know that bought 360's, all of them have had to send it back to ms at least once for repairs.

That would drive me crazy!

Still priced high if you take out the paypal promo. Taking 25$ off up front for a refurbished unit is not a hot deal in my book.
Take a look at the premiums. They charger 25$ less than a new unit.

Amazon is offering the -$50 i believe.

I've had my 360 since day one and haven't had even one issue and it's played an average of 20-30hrs/week.

I sent it in to MS just a couple months ago, but that was just to get teh new heatsink added over the gfx. ^_^

Adding the heatsink apparently did the trick for you.
Otherwise you'd have sooner or later joined the bandwagon just like the rest of us.
Speaking of which, mine had the three red-ring of death during the thx holiday, after almost a year of usage. I believe the Halo3 finally did mine in.
Called M$ who said it'd fix for free or I'd get a new one.

Gamestop Xbox 360 refurb has them for 199$ minus the HD. So you can pick up a used HD for 59$ and still be cheaper than overstock.

insta replacement at Costco >>>>> shipping it to have it repaired.
