Xbox 360 controller batteries

I'm going to be buying an xbox 360 soon and just wanted to get a feel for what controller battery system most users prefer or currently employ.

I bought a huge pack of cheap batteries 6 months ago i need to get rid of. They usually last me a few weeks.

Play and charge. It cost me $15 at Walmart for my 2nd controller. (Comes with a Premium package too)

If I were to get more than 2 controllers, I would stick to rechargeable AA batteries. Since all controllers come with regular battery packs which require batteries, it's the most cost effective. However, if you plan on owning less then you should get the rechargeable NiMH packs (either with the 2 play and charge kits OR a quick charge kit and an additional rechargeable NiMH pack).

48 akaline batteries at costco for 10 bucks. A single pair lasts months.

I ONLY use the MS rechargeable batteries because a play & charge kit came with my 360. I bought a quick charge kit for $22 at Walmart to supplement the play & charge kit. I don't like using the charging cable.

You really can't beat AA rechargeable though. They're cheaper and more versatile. Get the Sanyo Eneloops or Rayovac Hybrids if you don't play a whole lot, because they hold their charge very well when they're not in use. Regular NiMh batteries will self-discharge in about a month.

I'll be getting 2 controllers. The one that comes with the system and then another (I assume no batteries come with any of the controllers). I was thinking about buying a quick charge kit, which comes with 1 battery, and then buying a second battery, or buying 2 play and charge kits with batteries (or perhaps two batteries and one charging cable). I've heard the quick charge kit is much faster for charging, but I like the idea of having the cable to charge while I play in case I forget to charge up the batteries.

A decent set of rechargeable AAs might work too, but I'm not really a fan of disposables, so I'll probably avoid that option.

If that's the case, then yeah, you should definitely go with one of those two choices. It's really all up to preference now.

actually the 360 comes with batteries. Good energizer ones to. but id def say go for the charge and play. its the most economical solution in the long run. and another great feature w/the play and charge. if you take the battery out and just plug in the cable you can play that way, like a wired controller. thats how I usually play at home.

I have a good battery charger from my R/C things so it is all rechargables for me.

Play and Charge. I like the fact that I will never have to buy another battery again for it. Plus, I'm not one to complain about clutter/cable mess.
