I have to admit that I am old and know NOTHING about console game.

This is going to be a gift for a mid 40 year old man who recently got a driving wheel thingy...

What's the "best" driving game for Xbox 360?
And since I have to give this gift tomorrow, where should I get it from for cheaper price?

And any suggestion on other game as well.
Thanks,
oh...this man already have 2 kids....

Project Gotham Racing 4 or Forza 2.

If he already has the driving wheel, then he may already own both games or at least one of them.

It's also extremely realistic. It's basically a racing simulator, so if he hits a wall for example, the car gets damaged and is harder to drive. If he's not into that, go for PGR4 since it's more of an arcade style racing game.

forza2 all the way. its very hard and unforgiving, and some people say its abit cold. but me personally, coupled with 360 wireless steering wheel is one of the best games ever

trust me if he's a petrolhead, he'll love this..

sega rally could be a second option, very arcadey but fun

forza motorsport 2. if your looking for sim games its one of the best. if your looking for a little arcadish but still kinda realistic and fun, pgr. arcade, go for the nfs series.

this xmas im buying myself a 360 SOLELY for the reason of playing forza 2.

played PGR... its too far from realistic to be enjoyable. would be good for non-car friends as an arcade racer, though

depends. If you want very realistic physics then Forza 2. If you want ok physics then PGR4. I played the PGR4 demo and drove a Lotus Exige S in the snow. It seemed way too easy. That is why I say the physics are off. but I wish Forza 2 had weather.

Is there any way you can secretly find out which games he currently owns? I'm just thinking that if he has already has a wheel there's a pretty darn good chance he already has Forza 2, since that's the big simulation for which most people actually buy the wheel.

I have PGR3, PGR4, DiRT, Sega Rally Revo and Forza 2. The only one I've really ever played is... PGR4. Although Sega Rally Revo is fun too (played the demo), but the AI is pretty unforgiving. PGR4 is more of an arcade style racer that might be better for kids.

I just couldn't get into Forza. I tried...

VERY technical game. If you like tweaking with gearing/suspension, etc then it'll be for you.

PGR4 was alot of fun (I've only played the demo but it's great)

I enjoyed Test Drive Unlimited. Not sure how well it works with the wheel, though. It's older so the graphics aren't quite as impressive as PGR4 or Forza 2, and it certainly isn't as realistic, but it has a ton of vehicles and centers around collecting cars and driving them around Hawaii. It has complete interiors (and an in-dash cam) and you can roll the windows up and down. :) It also is an MOOR (Massively Open Online Racing) game, so if you want you can cruise around with other players or go race together.

I read a lot of reviews for Forza 2 that said "If you like cars, you'll love this game" but I somewhat disagree. If you're a gear head or love the sport of racing (on a track), you'll love Forza 2. If you're more casual about it and just like cars, I'd say TDU is the game for you (or maybe PGR).

Forza 2 = racing sim
PGR 4 = arcade racing

Impossible to say which he would prefer.

Just make sure he doesn't open up the game only to realize that's not what he wanted. They won't take back open games.

Realism vs. Arcade?

Forza 2 is realism at it's peak, quite a bit like the Gran Turismo series on the Playstation consoles, it's for the person who likes to drive in a realistic manner, and likes to tweak the hell out of his car, hopefully with some sort of mechanical background, although it's not a total requirement.

PGR4 is very much the slot track, arcade racer. I don't like it, I did like PGR3, and PGR4 is basically PGR3 with lots of rain and snow. I would say if he has PGR3 already, get him Forza 2, if he doesn't have PGR3, get that and save about $40, since PGR4 is barely any different after being 2 years in development.

If he likes over-top, crazy ass racing with flash and bang and wild, amazing crash physics, get him the latest Burnout. These are the only racing games I can really get into, and I love em.

Also, I have 2 kids, 7 and 14, and they LOVE Burnout.

I would get PGR4. It's a pretty fun arcade racer.

If you want true insanity though, get Burnout Revenge. It's also a lot cheaper than PGR4.

I just started playing forza2 and I'm loving it. I don't even have the wheel (I want one, though! Does the force feedback make the steering tighter as you try to go around corners too fast?) and I still think it's a blast. Graphics are great and the leveling up of a car and buying upgrades, etc is something I really enjoy. Like others have said, it's great for those that enjoy racing sims.

The PGR4 demo was a blast, IMO, especially on the triumph motorcycle and getting the back to step out around corners. A nice arcade racer, as stated by others above.

Either way, I'm sure he'll enjoy whichever you choose.
