Xbox 360 Arcade: How much does a hard drive speed up load times (Forza 3)?

I just bought an Xbox 360 Arcade and Forza 3.

Initial game load times are slow, but tolerable.

Delays when game moves you to a new track are really annoying.

How much would getting a hard drive and installing game on it speed up load times, particularly when switching from one track to another?
 
Forza 3 on the HD reduces load times by a good amount and makes the game a lot more playable. However, if you have a 20GB HD (like I do), it's the only game you can install. It's worth the sacrifice though, I expect to be playing Forza 3 for a long time.
 
Wow, track load time is still surprisingly slow in that video.

Tracks seem to load much faster on PS3 (Gran Turismo 5 Prologue).

I just started playing Forza 3 yesterday, but it does seem like racing physics are better than Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.
