XBox 360 and Playstation 3

Hey my Playstation 2 just kicked the bucket. I was thinking about getting a Xbox 360 and/or later down the line get a Playstation 3. Im looking at the games for both and nothing makes me go wow. Mind you im not into Halo or anything like that. Games i like are
Resident Evil, Madden, NBA games, Boxing

I wouldnt mind trying the Star Trek Legacy game but after looking at the list there are only like 4 to 5 games i would get. 3 of them i could play on the Playstation 2. How many of you have the Xbox 360 and now that you have it say it wasnt worth the 3 to 4 hundred bucks you paid. I may just get another Playstion 2

if you aren't dying for the 360 or ps3, nor have an HDTV, get the ps2

I do have a HDTV. The games look nice but in the back of my mind there a little voice saying get a PS2 while everone else keeps telling me to get a Xbox360. Just wondering if anyone else got one and said to themselves it nice but not what they expected.

I'd go for a 360. My brother and my friend have both a 360 and a PS3. PS3 is pretty decent but right now the 360 has tons of games and they just extended the warranty to a year, not to mention it's $100 cheaper

call me crazy, but the PS3 has little to offer right now. Plus they are hard to get. 360s are all over the place, have a good library of games and is cheaper.

i just played the xbox 360 for the first time yesterday, it was a one on one game called gears of war or something like that, and i was blown away by the graphics. after a while it got boring though. i think it depends on what kind of gaming you are into. i like the older role playing games like final fantasy (for snes) and they re-released those on ps1, so i still use my ps2 to play those and chrono trigger. if you like the awesome graphics and lots of eye candy, i say go for the 360 or ps3.

im not sure if theres a resident evil title for the ps3 or xbox, but i was also a big RE fan, and i had the most fun playing them on the gamecube, so maybe get a wii and buy the older titles since its backwards compatible. im not sure, but i think the wii's are the cheapest of the 3 options.

if you have a microcenter near you, there is a $100 mail in rebate for the 360 that you can use for either the core or premium system...so core system is $199 and the premium system is $299 (plus taxes) after rebate...you have to buy it by 12/31/06 though...


or you can get a $100 gift card for buying one at Toys r Us...
