This seemed like the best forum to ask this. I've got an xbox 360 connected to a vista media center pc as an extender. It's worked fine until a few days ago.

Now when I start the xbox on my tv and select media center pc I get the media center pc logo with the log on symbol underneath and then it just sits there with the log on indicator moving endlessly. If I try to turn everything off the xbox stays on (using Harmony One remote), like the xbox is hung up.

When I test the media center connection using the xbox it finds it and says there is a connection. Which leaves me at a loss to know what to do next.

Thanks for any help.

Have you tried doing it all over again? I've had problems with it before and just tried and tried doing it until it worked.

I am not a fan of how my 360 connects with other LAN-based PCs that host media files. Sometimes when a file format isn't supported, or even in cases where it was supported but didn't play, the 360 seems to disconnect itself in terms of media service on the LAN.

Conversely, I have never had this problem on my two PS3's. Mind you I use the PS3's as Blu-ray players and media clients and the 360 almost exclusively for console gaming.
