Depends on the relationship with the hardware suppliers. Because MS rushed production of the original Xbox, they ended up on the bad end of buying parts from Nvidia and Intel. They're supposedly in a better position this time so we'll have to wait and see.

It's pretty much guaranteed that both the PS3 and Xbox360 will lose money at launch. The determining factor will be if they are still losing money 2-3 years later when prodcution costs are supposed to have gone way down.

No on Sony and I think MS started turning a profit on the XBox finally.
