XBox 360 - 2 of the 4 rings blink red, anybody know the fix?

When the Xbox 360 is standing upright, the top 2 rings of the inner light blink red. As soon as you turn it on this happens, no picture or anything. I was searching online and people were saying they get the 2 red lights after their Xbox 360 is on for awhile and the cause is over heating. Mine will not even turn on for awhile.

Is the area well vented? Is the room incredibly hot? Does it ever turn on?

It does seem to be a heat issue, but I've never gotten that code before. I've had the classic RROD, which is also caused by heat, but is diagnostically different. How old is the 360, 'cause it may need to be repaired...hopefully under warranty. It clearly shouldn't happen from a cold start.

The area is well vented, the vents on the 360 are not covered with anything and nothing is nearby. The room is not hot or anything (I live just south of you in CO Springs) and the 360 is not exposed to sun shine or anything.

As soon as you turn it on the fans go full speed really loud then they stop, then it starts blinking the 2 red lights. When this happened, it wasn't during a marathon game session or something, it was only on for around 30 mins or so then it just happened. Maybe something hardware related died, GPU/mobo/etc.

This Xbox 360 is around 2-3 years old.

That would be my guess. And I think the 3-year warranty is only for the RROD. Sorry dude.
