I've been trying to help my buddy fix his controller issue with the right analogue stick drifting upwards while playing, but I'm not finding much useful information searching around. I've found plenty of "This fix works!!!" videos but the comments are usually plagued with people claiming it didn't fix their issue and no official word from Microsoft.
I've always loved tinkering with things and I really love taking electronics apart to see how they work. This generation, however, is quite frustrating due to the required solder iron to remove the motors before removing the inner circuit boards. Essentially, I can't even reach the sticks as my solder iron is currently on the fritz.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue with the analogue sticks drifting? I would love to say this is an isolated issue, but if you just google this problem, there are countless threads and people with the exact same issue. In the past, when faced with this same issue on older controllers, I would just need to disassemble the controller (which was simple) and clean the internals.
If anyone could give me some advice here, it would be greatly appreciated.
