xbmc users: Is it possible to set the display to 16:9? Seems like it's stuck at 4:3

Has anyone gotten xbmc to display 16:9 format? I got some component cables for the xbox and it's really improved the display, but the games and videos are not displaying across the whole screen.

Any reason why the games have black bars on them? I've set the tv to be 16:9 but wasn't sure how to set that on xbmc.

The second thing is, the hd xvid videos are showing up with black bars too and it's not that sharp :(

Any suggestions? thanks in adv!

is it a hdtv?

set xbmc to 1080i or whatever in the display settings if its 1080i... or 720p/480p/480i etc

also the skin has to support the HDTV modes, and you may need to set it in the default xbox dash to enable HDTV, I haven't used xbmc with an HDTV in quite awhile.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and ask if you have widescreen enabled in the original xbox dash. Whether that matters or not, I dont know.

What bios are you using? If it is the Xecuter Bios hold the white botton upon turning on the xbox, and from their (I think in video settings or something) there should be a way of enabling different resolutions.

EDIT: Just note that some videos will not play in widescreen if the video is of a bad resolution and games won't go widescreen if they are not designed to..

My guess as well. Click on the right thumbstick and choose "go to dashboard" (I think that's how you get there). You need to go to the original xbox dashboard, with the green colors and stuff, and make sure the 16:9 is set there.
