after not playing online for about 3 weeks and hopping on SF4 last night and receiving hatemail after I beat someone, I thought it would be fun for us to share our hatemail stories.

This guy was Ryu and I was Balrog. He beat me the first round, then the second round I beat him pretty easily after adapting to his play style. Then the last round he didnt even move his joystick, just gave up, so I perfected him.

No messages, but I do get negative player reviews and avoided when I beat people. Those UNO players are vicious.
 
I've never gotten hate mail really. Hate speech definitely, but it's always good that you know you beat someone that bad.

i do heh especially in SF4. i think it is cause a lot of people just HATE balrog.

funny thing is i dont even play with a mic unless im playing my friends so its not like im talking trash.
 
a turtle in fighters is someone who is always holding down/back and being defensive no offense.

but with balrog who is a charge player (which means to so special moves you have to either hold down for a second or back for a second) you HAVE to hold those directions sometimes in order to charge for your special moves.

but basically its just him pissed cause he didnt win.

my balrog is pretty much the exact opposite of a turtle. i just put pressure and pressure on people.
 
I mostly just get people challenging me to one-on-one matches after a game when I repeatedly pwn a "better" player . I always politely decline, because a one-on-one match is a waste of my time and wouldn't prove anything anyway. Being able to play well one-on-one doesn't make you good at a team game.

This is what I get to. Game Ends. Message within seconds: "u nub u suck .. u lucky.. play again u lose.. etc.. etc.. vulgarity/profanity/slurs/etc." Sometimes if I'm bored, I'll play a second and maybe third time just to get them really raging.

I get bad feedback for trash talking or inappropriate language even though I'm always in party chat or private chat or not using my headset at all. I gave up on trying to communicate with people I don't know while playing games.

Feedback is private, but the percentage you get in each category isn't.

SF4 is especially bad with this, in my experience. I've gotten hate mail before, and I'm a pretty shitty player.
 
I don't have any saved but when I was playing SF4 a lot I would get tons of these messages. Only game I really got them for. There's a huge awesome thread on SRK like this.

I've been practicing my SF4 the past couple days but I only still have PSN version until SSF4 comes out.
 
This is why I mostly stick with single player and co-op games. I did play Warhawk on the PS3 for a while though and never got anything like that. Before that you have to go all the way back to the UT days to find me playing any game seriously online... of course, I never got anything like that then either.
 
I used to get lots of those playing SC IV on xbox live... Though I was pretty good. The irony is that I would get tons of guys accusing me of being a button mashing ***** with no skill haha.
