XBL Gold I didn't know

When I migrated from the original X-Box console to the Xbox 360, I called up Microsoft and migrated my Gold Live account. Easy enough, but the impression was that the account can reside only on one console at a time.

When I got the Xbox One I was still playing with some friends on the 360. Believing in the above, I didn't migrate my Gold Live account. Instead, I used the included Free 14-day trial XBL Gold subscription card in the One's box and got the new console up and running.

Fast forward to this past week and a friend buys a One, migrates his XBL Gold account and is able to use it on both his 360 and One consoles (not concurrently). Had I known this I would not have created a second account. But since the new account is based on only 14-days trial I was wondering if i could simply remove the new account (ahem, reset the One back to factory condition), and migrate the original account.

The one caveat to this would be my concern for which I installed Rainbow Six Siege, and in turn created Uplay account based on this new XBL: Gold account. If I reset the One back to original, migrate my XBL Gold account, does anyone see an issue with reinstalling RB6S and creating another Uplay account?

You might not even have to reset the console. You potentially could just remove it from the console one way or another, and sign into the new account just fine. Worst-case, you could do a factory reset and dump it, no problem. There would be no issue in setting up UPlay again or resintalling Siege, UNLESS you bought the game digitally on your new account. In that case, you will need to leave the old account on the console for the other profiles on it to have permission, but anyone on the console where the license-holding profile is can access the game without that profile's being signed in.

Note that only works for the profile's "Home Xbox," which you can change in the system settings while signed into the account. You would lose your online/campaign progress going to the other profile, obviously. If you have the game physically, you've gotta do nothing but set the other UPlay account up and roll with it.

IDK what the support person was even trying to tell you. There's nothing to migrate. I just turned on my XB1 and signed into my profile, then went about my business. I didn't have to deal with anything but my e-mail address and password to sign in the first time.

When you first setup the XB1, it asks for your Live username and password and explains that you can use the same one without issue. Heck, games like Rockband will allow you to use your existing DLC for the new XB1 game.
