XBL and sports games question

I have a silly question regarding XBL and online sports franchises such as Madden. Let's say I want to have an online league with my brothers and let's say that two of them share an Xbox. In order for each brother to have a team in the franchise, would each brother need his own Xbox login AND XBL membership? I know that it might depend somewhat on which game we're talking about, so let's assume it is Madden.

They have an Xbox One that they would likely share and instead of me going over every weekend to play my games, I will probably just buy one since they're fairly cheap these days. Before I do that though, I wanted to see if a single XBL membership would allow multiple players on a single Xbox to play in the franchise or if each player needs his own XBL membership. Many years ago, we used to have a Madden league on the PC and they'd come over to my house each weekend to play their games; however, this isn't convenient any more.

You only need 1 XBL Gold membership on a single xbox. My kids piggy back off my account.

You can actually share it across 2 systems, make one your "home" system (I think that's what it's called) so everyone can share, then you login to another one with your account. I believe what you would do is set their XB1 as your home system and then you just use the one at your house. I haven't personally done that but I've read that it works.

Interesting - thanks.
