Xbit Labs 120mm Fan Roundup

Xbit Labs recently published their 120mm Fan Roundup for 2012. You can read the conclusion here. They're strongly recommending the Corsair SP120 High Performance Edition for an exceptional airflow-to-noise ratio, comparing it to fans like the Scythe Kama Flow 2. Evidently you can get a pair for $24 (and free shipping!) on Newegg right now. Other highly recommended fans include the Noctua NF-F12 PWM (about $30 including shipping on Newegg) and the Nanoxia FX EVO 120 (from Amazon, $37).

I have both the cougar and the gelid that he picks. the cougar is better then the gelid. from the review;

Each of these eight products is going to produce a stronger air flow at a lower level of noise compared to ordinary fans. They also feature a long service life and various extra features such as speed regulators, vibration-absorbing elements, interchangeable colored rings or beautiful highlighting. Interestingly, the two fans from Nanoxia are the most affordable here, although the company has never been noted to produce inexpensive products.


the gelid I own is the same as the one he looked at I have it in green. it looks great and I have photos of it here

the gelid is a pretty fan in green and works well
but if leds mean nothing to you the cougar is better.

it is pretty but so so for a hot case.
