XB1 Elite Bundle Release Date

A week ago I started searching and both Best Buy and Amazon were advertising the release date of the Xbox One Elite bundle as having a release date of December 1st. Figuring their coinciding dates were more than just coincidence, I found a BB support post (on their forums) stating that BB got that info from M$.

So when the holiday deal came out last week with a free game, $50 Off and a $60 credit for their marketplace I was all ready to buy the Xbox One Elitel bundle this morning. As yesterday evening drew to a close I couldn't help but be cynical and now it seems that cynicism was justified.

This morning I woke with the expectations that the Elite bundle was on sale--it is--and the holiday special no longer available--it isn't. So, I have to ask is it 'me' or is this a bait & switch scenario at play? How can one buy something if M4 isn't selling it even though they advertised the special holiday deal for the Elite bundle?

I expect this kind of B&S from Dell and others, but once again I am not disappointed at the marketplace to disappoint. And I am very disappointed. There was no way in hell anyone could have gotten the advertised deal on the Elite bundle.

So, I was resistant to buying a One when it launched, lived without one for ~2 years and now feeling the dupedness that M$ has bestowed on me will only re-solidify my not buying one. Way to go M$!

OK, the a-hole above is no longer upset. His wheel greased by a terrific Microsoft manager that did the right thing. Kudos!

I'm not sure what the problem is... sales change every week and you're now in the week after the holiday sale.

Sorry if I was unclear. I was under an impression that M$ would be running the offer at least one day into the release date of the Elite bundle, AND that I was under the impression that the release date for the Elite bundle was 12/1.

As such, I deliberately waited based on this misinformation and on the losing side of things. Using Bing, I could not find through searching the official release date for the Elite BUNDLE. Also, there was no date published on the M$ Store website listing the period in which the holiday special was running.

I did make effort yesterday to get clarification by calling the M$ Store, but got an automated system with 'Longer than expected hold times' message. I wasn't about to drive 40 miles into Atlanta for this information as ATL traffic is a bitch and would have meant a half day spent just to find out. Had a human come online to inform me otherwise, I would have checked out the basket and been done with it.

How hard it is to just be upfront with the information? Rhetorical question as M$ is in the game of collecting info, not giving it out.

So it's "bait and switch" when you think Tuesday is a sale day, when it's not stated as such? I don't get where Microsoft made a misstep with that, sounds as if you made up a Tuesday sale without real explanation.

Just did a quick search that said, "The Xbox One Elite 1TB Bundle
ir
has a scheduled release date of December 1, 2015." That was from September, and for Amazon. I assume a Best Buy date would match, since the only thing I otherwise knew was that the MS Store and GameStop would get it earlier.

But again, I'm still lost as to where you thought a sale today kicked in.

Is this some bundle like the holiday bundle they include games with? I'm totally confused.. If it's the same package that I already have that has the console and the elite controller than I'm not sure what Dec 1st release date is about.. totally totally confused

Had to look it up as I hadn't heard either: it's a new hardware bundle with main difference being a SSD drive and a new configurable controller. Given how much the controller seems to go for by itself, I wonder if it's a pure SSD or one of the hybrid models.

1tb hybrid drive, elite controller no games included. Was Gamestop timed exclusive as they got them early November....Or they bought out the first batch?

The Elite controller is pricey but looks and feels very nice. Just got mine delivered yesterday....Dang bestbuy back order! Still have to test it out.

That's where I was confused. I hadn't known that Gamestop had the exclusive as I just bought it there on a whim a few weeks back.

They offered a sale across the the board on Xbox sales. It expired yesterday. Today the Elite bundle was released. I would say it is the exact opposite of what you stated. If you knew that MS was doing a bunch of Xbox sales on Cyber Monday and the Elite bundle was being released on Tuesday. Logic dictates and most people would realize, that MS held off the Elite bundle sale till after Cyber Monday so they didn't have to discount it or create a confusing exception. You knew when Cyber Monday was and you knew the Elite release date. Why you expected to get it on sale is a question only you can answer.

Guys, I'm upset because I feel duped. Its 100% on me, but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it, or feel positive that I ignorantly allowed the situation.

BTW, I use M$ not because I am trying to say something perverted. I am a fat, lazy bastard that finds typing those two characters than Microsoft. I find it amusingly efficient.

"dupednes" ... it is as much a word as any other if it is used. One cannot be blamed for the dictionary taking its time to include it. Gosh, that just drew me back to my college days and an English professor challenging me to a work I derived but had never looked up before. We consulted this monster dictionary (20 pounds) and by God the fucker was in it.

The professor couldn't hold back the smile at learning something new. Like I just did in this thread fail. Now I see Sony is throwing a PS4 STBF deal on Sunday. Fyck M$

Offer was the Elite controller with the 1TB edition console, $50 off the bundle and a $60 gift code (didn't care about the game). Here is a picture of the offered bundle:

FYI, MS is also two characters and considerably more mature sounding. If you follow stocks and want to be crystal clear, there's also MSFT.

It isn't their fault you expected a sale when they were clear about their sale dates. You need to learn what bait and switch is (hint: they would have had to say "Elite console will be included in cyber monday sale" or something) and stop acting like...well, I'll stop there.

How is "M$" faster than "MS"? Makes no sense.

And, just to clarify, you're lazy, so Microsoft tricked you? The deal was clearly a Black Friday/Cyber Monday offer. You decided to buy something after the fact, and Microsoft's some kind of trickster? I wanted to get the Forza 6 controller for $40 from their site, but it sold out while I was one the phone with my dad (for about 2 hours). I missed out and was a bit lazy by not jumping on it the first time, but that doesn't mean Microsoft tricked me...

Yes Gamestop got them early as a timed exclusive and when I picked up mine I got a free game AND free controller. So I ended up with Forza 6 and a regular wireless controller for free. Traded in the controller as I already purchased a Lunar White one previously.

I got the last one at that particular M$ store and the manager gave me the promotion even though it was over. Color me shocked.

Just remember, you said Microsoft duped you with some bait-and-switch. If they seriously gave you the Black Friday deal, like, 3 days later, you'd better be praising them to high heaven in every corner of the Internet, haha.

Also, I hate that I'm nowhere near a MS Store. I need a Display Dock in my life for my 950.

LOL, seriously. Who still writes "M$" (other than OP?) Such a silly thing to write in this day and age.

What does this sentence mean?
