xanax vs. clonazepam and benzodiazepines

glen

Lifer
Both are benzodiazepines.
But, I have never take either of them.
What are the differences from those with experience?
What are the things they don't come out and tell you in medical school about these?
I can look up half life, and cytochrome450 effects, but that is not what I am looking for thanks.

Dosage maybe? I dunno, but take 2 2mg Xanax and a 6 pack and you wont give a damn WHAT happened, your happy as a sond bird in a tree.

So, Xanax is more euphoric?
Does it make you slkeepy?
Ias I understand it, Clonazapam can make you sleepy, but so can all of them (benzos) for that matter.

From what I know, one of the side effects of mixing xanax with alcohol is mild amnesia. Basically, it feels like you're trashed, and you wake up without the hang over, but with the same, "what the hell happened last night," conundrum.

As for the difference between xanax and benzodiazepines, I'm not really sure of specifics. Maybe try doing a google search on em. Could look for diazepam as well, since that's another somewhat popular benzo.

Clonazepam and Xanax are all Benzos, along with many other drugs.

Xanax= shorter in duration and more powerful than Klonopin.
Klonopin= longer in duration and less powerful than Xanax.

Xanax is more likely to be abused, although Klonopin is abused as well. Both create an inebriated state similar to alcohol usage, and both can cause memory problems.

What else do you want to know?

I forgot. 😕

Do you guys really think you need this stuff?

Well, I think glen is in med school, and I just know about it because I used to be a pillhead. I certainly don't need the stuff and I don't take it anymore, but I can't have it around me, because then I WOULD take it.

I was asking about a trebuchet in another thread - you really think i need one of those or was just curious?
the assumption that someoen NEEDS somethign they ask about in a thread, like a Ferrari for example is mind boggling.

Trebuchets are very cool... They make for great David Letterman or R. Lee Ermey (Mail Call on the History Channel) footage, and they're quite useful for taking out enemy buildings when playing Rise of Nations. They're the last word in Middle Ages artillery and seige weaponry. Ferraris are cool both as technological marvels of automotive engineering, and as ostentatious displays of excessive wealth. Given that we're no longer living in the Middle Ages and that there are a variety of choices in the automotive world with regard to personal transportation, one can confidently state that neither trebuchets nor Ferraris are "needed" by anyone.

Antidepressants, on the other hand, are hardly so glamorous. They are marketed to fulfill perceived need; how much of that "need" is real and how much is manufactured through advertising is not such an easy question to answer.

Edit: My mistake, and my apologies to glen; I somehow missed the medical school reference. 🙂

Yes, but if you attack Wales with a trebuchet, and if I give them happy drugs, I assure you that I'll have an easier time plundering their country, and isn't that what life is all about?

Actually? Yes. Yes it is, in a roundabout way.. (or quite direct, depending on your frame of reference)

I took a couple Klonopin once and at the time I didn't feel them much but I don't remember anything I did. So yeah as others have said, memory is impaired. Heh
