X99 Motherboard

Not really, considering the x99 is the performance chipset, which are always short lived. The next chipset for mainstream users is coming out for new maxwell cpu sometimes in next 6 months.

Are the X99 Motherboard ready for primetime? The reviews on Newegg are awfully low.

I wouldn't base my opinion on Egg Head feed back, go to forums like overclockers.com and see. People who are happy tend to not post as they got no issue but, people who got issue tend to show up and give feedback.....
Remember DDR4 is still high, so I wouldn't get anything crazy as that will mature as DDR4 is more mass produced. A 5820K will over clock well, really seeing some nice results from them.

What issues are the x99 motherboards supposed to have? I've been using mine for about 6 months, and have not had any real issues. I'm even running an old BIOS, since I've been a bit lazy about updating, and that old "don't fix it if it ain't broke" deal.

ASUS just announced the TUF Sabertooth X 99 is coming soon. My X58 and X79 Sabertooth's are still running great. This might get me on the X99 bandwagon. That means a new CPU and memory too. Or i can just forget it and buy a GTX TITAN X for the same money as all that. lol

X99 is awesome - I would never take any newegg reviews into consideration for any purchase. It is best to look at all reviews and information available. The upcoming MSI X99A MPower and XPower look like they will be real winners judging from testing results that I have seen

Well it helps to pay attention to the reviews on Newegg. If many units are DOA or die within a few weeks, then thats something that needs to be noted before buying. I also look to see the dates of the reviews because a bunch of bad reviews near each others date might mean you could be buying into a bad run of that product. How many times have you see great reviews as a product starts out then as time goes on the reviews sink. Or the other way around, bad reviews to start but later reviews are good. Sometimes they fix what is wrong with product after first run.
Yes look at all reviews of product before buying but looking at some trends in reviews can save you from putting your hard earned money on a lemon.
