Hello all, I am having an issue with DGPU installed hanging on code 97, all BIOS defaults have been reset, I changed primary graphics to IGPU, but as long as DGPU is installed it will hang on 97, monitor will show HDMI1 which is IGPU connection, and DGPU is DP1 but I cannot get through post unless I pull at least one power connector on DGPU. But then IGPU shows as gpu0 and I need DGPU to be set to 0.

IDK if it is any security settings, or if the GFX option with no help string should be off or on. But I have went though as much as I could to try to force boot from IGPU with the DGPU installed and connected completely.

CSM is a question because it says to turn off for DGPU, and the Promintory boot options 1st is set to uefi only.

Kind of at a loss of how to force it to boot with both gpus installed and connected. This is related to vbios flashing, but I think I have a BIOS setting incorrect to be able to recover.
Any help would be appreciated. It is a strange behavior, I am on MOBO BIOS 3.20

Thanks, DaaQ.

Well 7900xtx nitro has 2 vbios and 3 switch positions. This is where I believe my mistake was made.
ASRock doesn't give clear explanation of code 97. I can pull one 8 pin and it'll boot off igpu. But I should be able to force it onto igpu. But that is not happening.

I did say vbios gone wrong. I believe I was on software vbios position. But have to install Trixx to confirm.

Will HW flash Monday when the parts arrive.

It sounds like you have a bad GPU. Does it work in another system?
Sorry forgot to quote.

Anyway bad storms today and lost power a couple times and not risking it today.

My main confusion is the mobo bios with has a absolute crap ton of options and after cmos clear they are all auto.

I have 2 m.2. And 4 sata. Maybe I'll install windows to a SATA and see what happens.

I will need a full reinstall anyway due to the HW flasher programs being cheesy and obviously corrupt as all get out.

I wound up having to use a laptop with the ch341a flasher hooked to it to flash gpu from sapphire to aqua xoc vbios. left nitro+ on second chip. It is back up and running.

Will have to test if the 2 HDMI still work due to only flashing one VBIOS chip. According to others they still do, back in the early days when people were flashing both bios chips the Nitro would lose a monitor output. due to being 2xHDMI 2xDP rest are all 1xHDMI 3xDP.
