The Stock heatsink/fan thingy on the x850XT is pretty good at keepin temps low (72max underload...good for the card) I was wondering if there was a better aftermarket cooler for the card?? I know people always recommend the Silencer and the vc7000(or wutever it is) will these 2 coolers drops temps any? lmk thanks

I have an Arctic Cooling brand AT5 ceramic cooler/silencer on my X850XT. It came on the card which I bought used recently. It got great reviews and really seems to work well. GPU temps are approx. 10 degrees below stock and the fan is very quiet. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking to overclock or reduce noise. Check it out HERE.

If you want the best on the market, then you might want to try the V-1 Ultra from Thermalright.

But, either one of those 2 coolers, VF700 series or the Silencer 5 series will bring down your temps dramatically when installed correctly.

What kind of chassis do you have? The Silencer is designed to exhaust the hot air from the card out the chassis and the VF is meant to just lower the tempeture of the core to a minimum with no exhaust method.

I'm running a 16 pipe gto at 560mhz on a daily basis, and with a zalman vf700cu the load temps are about 60C max, so yeah, a new cooler will make a big difference. And it's a lot quieter than the stock fan.

I've got the same card, VF-700AlCu here and I get about the same temps.
