Still alot of cash and way of MSRP. But nevertheless a good deal for the current going rate I suppose.

the funny thing is that this isnt a comparatively bad price. when the 6800U and X800XT PE came out, they were going for $1000+

Thanks, just got 2...., NOT! Dang, this is just getting ridiculous. For a lot of you gamers with money, I guess you can afford it, but, wow! I mean, just the other month, folks were shelling out cash for what was supposed to be the latest card, the x800 and 6800xt (or their variants), but now, ALREADY there's a faster card out (just by looking at the numbers, I'm assuming that this is the faster card)! This is just a scam that the computer industry is playing on all of us! But, if you can afford it, good for you.

My take on this is the video card co's are going to lose their ass on these cards. Sure, the memory may be expensive, but i can only imagine the profit they are making off of these. Manf has got to be making at least DOUBLE, so we will say $385, then the rest is profit to the retailer. If everyone draws the line, im sure the prices would hover down eventually. I remember how everyone freaked out when the first Geforce in 2000 hit the market and it was $300!

Ok that wins dumbest comment of the day award.

How exactly can you "lose your ass" while making a wild amount of profit off an item? ;)

Man, I hope card prices hit a peak somewhere. I like being able to save up for a year or two and then use the cash to buy a top-of-the-line video card that'll last me until the next upgrade. The top-of-the-line used to be $300, now it's $800+... what the hell? That ain't right.

Meh, I have my x800, I'll wait until next year and see what's out then. :p

If you have one of the later cards, consider yourself lucky. I have ATI 9100 in my main rig. For the type of games I play, casino games and online golf, it is still great!

I still haven't recovered from when video cards first hit $300. My GeForce Ti4200 was $118 a long time ago, and you still cannot do much better than it for the same price.
