After the battle of proxy con, my system in the sig will reboot.

ATI Tool burns for 10 minutes without error, 01 runs fine (25,000) and so does 05 (6,750), but 03 fails if the memory is at 580 or 600 but completes with it at the stock 540 (~13,000).

Since it is just rebooting, I am thinking that it may actually be a power issue rather than a problem with the actual card.

I have the fan spinning 100% by 60C, and it appears that with 80F ambient the card peaks @ ~74C.

This doesn't bother me too much, as I don't *play* any of the 3dMarks, but I am wanting to fix the issue regardless.

Thoughts?

I really don't think your card is crapping out on since you passed on the other test. Did rebooting come frequently during gaming? if not, I would test the PSU out (maybe switching it around)

A quote from Batch71, the awesome guy I bought the card off of:

Dude, I had the exact same rebooting issue in 03 at the end of Proxycon. REALLY!

I was using a 300W Antec Standard and it was making me f'ing crazy, very repeatable reboots also.

I switched it out for an Antec 430 True Blue and Viola! No more rebooting, passed every time. I guess the x850xt is a piggy when it comes to watts ;)

So it seems like the 450 Fortrons aren't really all that. My dads x800xt locks up with any OC with that same power supply. Go figure... I really didn't want to spend $100+ on a power supply ever again, but I guess here it goes...

Probably with the X850XT, the problem could be the power supply, but with the X800XT I doubt it, they are poor overclockers because their ASIC is not optimized as the X850XT is, that's why you can see X850XT overclocked as high as 600MHz and the X800XT barely 530MHz. I bought the X800XT running at 500MHz, I flashed the BIOS to PE and it worked great running stable at 520MHz, when I turn on Overdrive, it just overclocks itself to 527MHz, anything higher than that with any program, like ATi Tool or ATi Tray will corrupt my display or lock my computer. But the memory runs as high as 590MHz. And I did all those things with a crappy 450MHz Power supply. When I moved to the Antec Smart Power 2.0 of 500 Watts, nothing changed. Darn it.!
