The deal seems fine to me. Many others would have opted for an equally priced x800xl or saved and gotten a GTO^2, but your card will probably serve you well.

Newegg has an X850PRO for $239 right now... not too bad of a deal. I may snag one up.. nice cheap upgrade over my X700Pro

Everyone here in the forums is going to scream at you, that you should have got the GTO2... but Newegg wants $299 for it.. and no online vendor can really keep it in stock

I'm not sure. I just got an x800XL last week and love the thing. I'm debating now whether to keep it or bring it back for the similarly priced x850 Pro, but am not sure. What 3dMark scores are you getting on your x850?

Not worth it.

Get a 6800GT or save for a next gen card. The GTO2, the XL, and the 6800GT are the only mid-high end cards worth investing in from last gen.

Decent deal on the card, but IMO should have waited.

That would be a serious downgrade.

Next, why does 3DMark matter at ALL. You would buy a card that is worse in everything simply for a higher score??

You could probably softmod the X850Pro VIVO (no laser cut I believe) to X850XT but honestly why wouuld you want to if you can get the GTO2, which IS an X850XT . . . for the same price too . . .

An X850Pro even at 600Mhz core (which is reacheable for an R480 core) cannot beat an X800XL at 450Mhz core (reacheable with good cooler) . . .

Should be equal at those clocks, all things considered...
