Hey all,

I just got an ATi X850 XT agp to replace my 9800 pro 128 mb, and when i installed the drivers windows said new video card X800 pro showed up. I then check my CATALYST Control Center and it said my Core Clock in Mhz was 473 and my Memory Clock in MHz is 452.

I thought the Core Clock in Mhz was 500 and Memory of 1080 mhz

Is this a usual thing, or should i send my card back?

I ordered this card from Micro Center online for $250, is the cheap price related to some kind of scam? On the box it says ATi X850 XT, and the card is the same as the box image.

download ATITOOL to check out what core it is. was the item opened box or a return? also, with atitool, see if the chip can clock up to that speeds w/o locking up.

Well it was in factory wrapping, and it was in its anti static baggie with an unbroken seal. With ATiTool should i put the the speeds to stock X850 speeds 500/1080?

nah, just hold shift and click settings in atittols. it should tell what core the chip is, x850 and x800 have different cores.

WOW... that's horrible.

Mine is a R481... you should sue them for false advertising!

Yeah, you got the wrong card in that box. I recently got my X850XT from Microcenter and ATITools says the Chip name is R481 and the default speeds are 520/540.

Smoking card BTW... loving being able to crank up the visuals in everything now. :D

Send it back.

Well just incase you were interested, after 3.74 in shipping prices, and 1 hour on the phone with micro pc people (Including the tech guy who was stupted with my problem) I got a new real X850 XT.

Now a new question, after overclocking the thing to 550 core and 600 memory, under full load it was hitting 60 C, is this okay?
