What is ATI thinking the card is $50 more then the x800xl and is outperformed. Or is this because Anandtech doesn't have the set clock speeds? I was somewhat confused by the article.

Also which card should I get? The BFG 6800gt or the x800xl or x850 pro if its any good.

X850 pro's clock speeds might have not been finalized.

The thing is, even if the card ran at 550mhz and 1100 memory it still wouldn't be as fast as 6800GT.

Out of those 3 cards (unless x800xl overclocks to 500mhz), 6800GT @ ultra speeds is the best.

besides the other cards are pcie only for now; so is that even an option for you?

Thats funny, an x800 pro is already faster then a GT in ut2004 and HL2 and sometimes farcry, you would think a higher clocked pro would do even better yea? ... a GT is a GT, not a GT at ultra dude... if you overclock one, you overclock the other.

Let ATI worry about what they want to come out, if there is little demand for X850 pro, its price will drop on the open market anyway, buyers can only benefit.
