X850 Pro with a X800XT wording on the upc-what does this mean?

I was at Best Buy and saw they had a X850Pro for $250. Upon closer inspection, there was lettering indicating that it was a X800XT on the side(on the upc). What is ATI up to?

Also on the box, it said that an empty adjacent pci slot was needed even though the card was clearly a single slotted cooler...

Is ATI repackaging X800XTs?

Hmm, maybe they are selling X800XTs with failed pipes as X850 Pros.

This could be very interesting, since it may very well just be a downclocked X800XT too.

For $250!

Doesn't BestBuy have a 30-day return policy with no restocking fees?
I say you buy one & do some investigating

well if they were failed pipes they would sell it as x800pros...strange indeed!! i recommend you dont buy the card as you can get the X800XL for a cheaper price.

D00d, X800XT disguised as an X850 Pro > X800XL.

He should check this out :)
