Hmm i wonder if you can guess what this thread is about 🙂

Anyway, I have googled for quite a while, however I still cannot find an answer to my question: Can you unlock the pipes on a x850 pro / Can you flash the x850 pro to either an xt or xtpe?

Gonna lean on the side of "Don't buy a card based on whether you can unlock the pipes or not".

Just go with the 800XL. Provides superior performance to the 850pro and u wont have to take the risk of the pro unable to be flashed to a XT/PE

lol thats a long wait....and with the trend Nvidia and ATI have been following the last year i doubt he/we would be able to get a R520 or G70 by then.
