so I found a hot deal on an x850 crossfire edition and I want to jump on it. I noticed, however, that ATI recommends a 500W PSU. I only have 300 and 350 though. Think I can still sqeak by?

What kind of psu do you currently have... probably not is the answer. I'd recommend the enhance 5150ghy if you're going to upgrade. @ ewiz...

Highly doubt it will work.
On another point, I don't think it will be worth it. Selling your old cards, buying a newer one (x1800xt, maybe) and a new high quality PSU is your best bet. 500w Seasonic should do the trick. That or a Fortron

my budget is very very very small :)

ATI has a hot deal (refurbed X850 CF for $140 shipped :Q:Q:Q) so I'm selling my current card (it's pending).

overall, it'll run me ~~$50 to switch, not including PSU

i checked out AT's review, in which they did power consumption tests on the X850 XTPE (CF is @ XT speeds)

total system draw < 350W

what brand psu? Brand is much more important than power rating. I've seen 550w generics that dont have the amp ratings on the +12v rail of 400w psus, or even the 310w pc&p.

a refurdbed X850 CF is not that hot a deal man
you get a brand new 7600GT for that price I think
for 220$ after rebate you get X1800XT
