Why would they charge so much just because it's PCI-E? Still the same (slower clocked 500/1000) X800XT. Maybe they should have went with a bridge design to keep costs down.

I would assume its newegg hicking up the price, as they usually do with new cards.

Monarch sells a Sapphire XT PCIe for ~$550. Still $100 more than the AGP version, but not as painful as $660 for Asus' extra DVI output and webcam.
