well the AIW X800XT is supposedly going to be $499 MSRP, maybe we're going to see the XT become $449 or$399 and the Pro drop to $349 or $299, MSRP that is... in order to better compete with the price performance of the GT, I dunno price drops seem too good to be true but w/e

*EDIT*

Ok, looking for X800XTs on newegg, that deal is HOT compared to other XTs

$580 PCI-e
$589 AGP
$590 AGP
$659 PCI-e
$699 PCI-e

Seems like price drops are definately out of the question, more like newegg made a mistake

The next cheapest price for an actual XT on pricewatch is $501 for the same saphire

This is XT (500/1000), not XT PE (520/1100). Up until now, it was strictly PCIE based. Now, AGP flavors will start to show up @ $459 MSRP. Hopefully, in quantity.

459?! That's cheap man! So why can't the PCIe version be that cheap? I'd be all over that thing if it was!

I think that's a pretty good deal.
Ackmed, can you add "AGP" to your title so people will now it's the AGP version, cuz this is the first time I've seen an AGP X800 XT, and I think most people also don't know about it.

MSRP on this is $449 I believe. At that price you get nearly XTPE performance. It competes well with the 6800 GT.

actually it should crush the GT. AGP XT in large quantities is pretty promising.

Yet another card that I'd like to own and yet can't afford. :(

Oh well, maybe this'll drive the prices down on X800 Pro cards.

A head-to-head comparison is definitely in order. If they can get the price down to around $400, ATi might have a real winner on their hands.

Isnt this is AGP card that supposedly didnt exist? The card that was supposedly originally supposed to compete against the Ultra, but was then PCIe only which is why people directly compare the PE to the Ultra.

Yep, it sure is. That's why there aren't many benchmarks with it. ATi appears to have silently launched the "vanilla" XT in an AGP variety. Maybe because they couldn't get yeilds up on the PE's and they wanted to at least bring something other than the X800 Pro to the table? Maybe they were losing too many buyers to the GT? Or, maybe PCIe isn't taking off as fast as expected. Who knows...? Either way, it is an very powerful card at a decent pricepoint.

these guys seem to have noticed this too. the PE's might be too short in supply. May explain why the AIW ended up being an XT too.

It shouldnt be. They are far different on MSRP. $100 worth in some cases.

wow, this seems almost too good to be true considering the price and availability of the XT PEs. The performance should be quite close to the PE but the price is much lower than the ~$550 that PEs are going for and it is actually listed as in stock. If I hadn't already gotten a 6800GT a month ago, I would have snapped this up immediately.

B3D XT review. Great price for the card, relatively speaking, and a much smarter buy than a $440 X800P VIVO (with a chance of modding).

Whether it's worth the extra ~$50 over a GT is your call, but it can be >15% faster in some games. Obviously, there are some games where nV cards enjoy an advantage.

Edit: Er, whoops, I thought Ronnn's link was to another NewEgg listing.

The cool thing is that this XT is also a VIVO, its cheaper by over $100 than the other AGP XTs and it doesn't seem to lack anything. Although if the AIW is in fact going to be $499 then I'd ahve to say $40 more for all the extra features would be worth it, however you'll probably only see that price at B&M.

Not a bad price for that card. Should get to XT speeds easily. Now the GT's have something to worry about. Though since a few of the GT's are under 400 now I'd still probably go GT.

Great price if you don't need vivo. NCIX has confirmed ont their site that vivo would be an extra and not to expect it. You are right, my link title made little sense.
edit: oops I see newegg states it has vivo, now I am confused.

I think that review is outdated. Pete. Here is a better one. The XT performs at ~95% of XTPE levels. All in all, it beats the 6800 GT more often than not. Interestingly enough, XTPE Doom 3 performance was not bad at all under High Q mode.
