X800XL to AIW X800XT->worth it for ~$55?

I have a chance to upgrade but I'm not sure if its "worth" it. I'm perfectly happy with the performance of the X800Xl but since I'll be heading to college, it might be a good idea to watch tv on my monitor.

Would you do this upgrade?
 
If you don't upgrade video for a few years it might be. I've always perfered seperate cards though. You should be able to to get a Leadtek 2000/XP TV Expert tuner from newegg.com for $40 something. That way next time you get a video card you won't lose the tuner. On the other hand if you think the little bit of extra performance is needed from the XT AIW then it might be worth it.
 
Id say so considering the X800xt gaming performance is better than the x800xl and it has the extra goodies like tv tuner and what not.
 
if you're not going to utilize the extra features, it's pointless

it's like getting an LCD monitor with extra buttons that offer support modes for fast user switching, and never ever touching any of the buttons

pc users can waste a lot of money on things that they don't need for a comp, like getting a media reader and never having a digital camera, etc

not saying that you're gonna never use the extra features, but think about long term.

i know some people who get extra features because they think their friends could make use of it
