x800xl question

Two parts:

Part I
I recently got the full version of 3dmark05 to benchmark my new system. scored 4644 on the demo settings, 3368 on 1280x1024 with 4x AA. NOw, i found this to be a little low in comparison to others who have roughly the same, non-overlccked system (~50pts.) Is this normal for a system of the specs in my sig?

Part II
Checked what 3dmark05 had listed as my speeds in processors, vid, etc. it says my vga memory clock is only 492.8MHz in comparison to the 980 listed on newegg (where i bought it). now newegg has "(490x2)" next to the effective speed of 980. explain this to me. Also, my VGA core speed is only 398.3 compared to the 400 standard. What is a free program that overlcocks video cards that i can use for free? And isn't pixel/vertex shader 2.0 out of date for a new x800xl card? does ATI have shader 3.0 for the x800xl and how much will that improve my score?

Your 3DMark score is right on.

No one runs that benchmark with AA or AF turned on, or changes the resolution, so all is well.

The core is pretty much 400MHz, no need to worry about that.
The memory is 980MHz.
The card runs DDR, or double data rate, so 490x2 = 980, because you double the speed.
Just the same as PC RAM.

I scored 4800 at stock speeds with my x800xl, so you are in the right range. With some CPU overclocking, and an Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 5 on my card I overclocked the x800xl and am pushing 5400 3Dmarks now.
