520/530 is pretty good.
Consider that a x800xt pe is only 520/560 with the same 16 pipes.

QFT. The zalman is VERY good on teh 6600GT though!! 590/1200 rock solid. I'm going to shoot for 592/1210 tonight!

in isn't that, but i would like to squeeze out any ounce i can out of my xl. also how much of a benefit is added by increasing voltage and/or increasing the bandwith from 100mHz to maybe 110mHz in the BIOS?

wow, that's a VERY good overclock for the X800XL (BBA), average/near highest overclocks at stock are at 450 for the core

Check out my X800XL OC in my Sig

I found that the memory on the X800XL seems to make a bigger impact on the FPS performance in most games. My OC was similar to yours but after some experimenting I dropped the core some and cranked up the Memory. I saw a much biggger increase in real world FPS as well as in benchmarks.

I guess with X800XLs its just kind of a hit or miss thing about the overclocking. Most people don't get there X800XLs near what the OP and I have reached. I guess we're just lucky.

(and yeah I know the 6800gt OC's better)

To paraphrase Star Trek: "We can't do it captain! We just don't have the power!". :Q

Essentially, you're SOL. If you try a volt mod or watercooling you're insane IMO. Your card is FINE. It's within 25% of the fastest out there. What more do you want? 🙂

Edit: I predict that your card will experience a hull breach (read: your PCB will rupture) and will also have a core meltdown if you try to overclock using the above-mentionned means.

Have a great night. And drink beer; it helps you write things like this.

I get the exact same OC numbers you do with my X800XL and AC Silencer. My 3dMark was actually one point better too. 😛 I also joined these forums 2 days after you.. soul mate?? haha. I couldn't believe the difference I got from the stock fan, idle temp dropped 8 degrees and never gets hotter then 50C. Not to mention the 430 to 450 core and 550 to 575 memory OC numbers... Quake 4 plays much smoother at 1280x1024 now. Screw Zalman and those who say you can't OC an 800XL.. AC cooling 4life!
