i have the powercolor one with the pci-e power connector. it is at 480/500 stock. but since i added a vf700 alcu i have been able to get 520/530 stable. is there anything i can do, especially to cool te gpu ram? thanks.

The Zalman is better, but it's not worth it for the X800XL, like others said, it does not OC well.

I found that the memory on the X800XL seems to make a bigger impact on the FPS performance in most games. My OC was similar to yours but after some experimenting I dropped the core some and cranked up the Memory. I saw a much biggger increase in real world FPS as well as in benchmarks.
I guess with X800XLs its just kind of a hit or miss thing about the overclocking. Most people don't get there X800XLs near what the OP and I have reached. I guess we're just lucky.
(and yeah I know the 6800gt OC's better)
