x800xl or 6800gt?

I have my new build, but my asus x800xl is running real hot and throttles all the time when playing like hl2 and cs:s. I want to rma it and get a new card, but I dont know if i should get a 6800gt or another x800xl. somethings i like about the 6800gt like the sm 3.0 and i like the open gl 2.0 on the x800xl. but the x800xl i wanted was out of stock. this is the 6800 gt i was considering, if you find a good x800xl (preferably msi, because i have an msi mobo and then i could take advantage of D.O.T), please tell me. Thanks.

I'd just go with whichever is cheaper.
$296 AR for a 6800 GT seems like a real good price, but VC prices seem to be dropping every day.

x800XL for bang for the buck performance.

as for performance, the games that I play mostly, the x800xl performs better than the 6800gt. it is cheaper

the cheapest x800xl is around $240 and the cheapest 6800gt is around $300. the decision is not that hard. I don't play Chaos Theory 24/7 a day so I could care less for sm 3.0
