X800XL -- ATi, Sapphire or Asus

The pricing for all 3 cards mentioned in the subject are the same, so that's not an issue. However, I am confused as to which one I should get.

Anyone care to share an opinon? Maybe some horror stories? Suggestions? Anything would be great 🙂.

AGP or PCIe?

EDIT: I'll assume PCIe as that's the only Asus X800XL Newegg has. I'd go with the Asus because it appears to have a much better heatsink than the Sapphire, and the BBATI card is OEM, or an extra ~$30.

I am having the same problem. Is the only difference just the heat sinks or what. I know it used to be different types of memory and everything. So what company is really making this card the best. Anyone have any reviews where they compare them.

ASUS is about the same price as sapphire and ATI brand?
hmm, sounds too good to be true.

I'll still go with ATI given the choice

I myself am also debating on which x800 xl i should buy...

I was wondering which of these cards have the best cooling/silent heatsink fan...the fan on the asus one seems better than the BBA one (correct me if i'm wrong)

Sapphire or ASUS. I bought an ATI x700pro and when I used dvi the screen would start to flash on and off (it wouldn't do this with VGA). I returned it and got a new one (ati brand again) and the same thing happend. No it wasn't my monitor because it is working fine with my BFG 6600GT (that I got instead).

i heard a lot of people going for ATI, and my question is: Are there any difference in heatsinks when comparing the Built By ATI to the Asus version?

and it overclocks decently (not as good as ASUS in this depot)
It also has a decently quiet fan

Not sure what your problem was friend but I have ran my X800XL in DVI mode on several lcds including my current one and had no problem at all.

My current is 2005 FPW.

I have not seen the others but I can say the Ati one is a great card. Not had any problems with temp, but I dont overclock so cant speak for that either.

Anyone one should be fine, I guess to me it would come down to features and warranty support. Not just the numbers but how well the company actually backs them. From what I read, Ati does very well on warranty support (replacement, tech support, etc).

If they are the same price I'd get the ATi one.

I've got a Sapphire Radeon now, and I'm happy with it, but I got it because it's a lot cheaper than the ATi branded ones. For the same price I'd definately go with ATi's own.
