Just some quick questions;

Does anyone have any specs on how many watts of heat the x800xl chip generates?
I wonder since I am thinking of mounting one of these on my Powercolor x800xl and wonder if it would suffice;

I have already measured that it fits physically.

Quick and correct answers would be appreciated.

you can't have watts of heat. you have watts of electricity, and temperatures in heat. :) i am takign a guess about 65 load, but i don't use radeon cards. that cooler would defintley help for the powercolor.

In fact, you can measure heatdissipation in watts :)

The Powercolor with the default cooler runs about 45-50C during load for me. It is just that I want to get rid of the fan noise such a small fan creates.

LOL....exactly, never heard of measuring temperature in watts....
anyway i doubt u can get rid of that noise...u can change the fan such as getting a Zalman!

I already have a Zalman HP80D, but if I install that one, my Zalman 47J wont fit on the chipset, something I missed to check when I ordered all the parts for this computer. If I modify the passive heatsink for the chipset, I will have reduced it's area by half, and as such reduced it's efficiency by half.
