X800XL AGP $232 instore @ Best Buy

Saw in best buy(in GA) today that they have the x800xl AGP on clearance for $232 after an instant rebate. You may have trouble finding a best buy that has some instock though since they are in clearance.

Mind boggling. I don't understand how you can put a card that has been out for less than a year on clearance. Yet BB has stagnant MP3 players and junk hanging around for ages.

its all about what sells and what doesn't, best buy doesn't/can't/and probably never will effectively cater to the euthusiast market.

I think that they were highlighting the irony of the situation, lighten up a little 😛

This is a really good deal, though...

The Website has it listed for $249.00 but it's sold out.

Edit: Woot, the store near me still has some in stock. Going to check on the price this afternoon.

Hmm, the other day i went to pickup one up and they were OOS. So i went to CC and they had it for more so i asked em to pricematch and they did and i got a $30MIR with it so it came to $220 after the rebate and before taxes.

Ok dumb question.....

I see 6 stores near me...the nearest 3 are in light-grey text....the last 3 are in bold.
So all 6 have it? or the last 3? I'm confused.

I think all 6 would have it...but I would call them to make sure.

Lord, why do I even bother with Best Buy any more?

Web site said 2 closest stores had stock. I drove 35 miles to the closest one, who said they had 3 in stock. But they couldn't find any.

Next closest store showed 9 in stock. The store I was standing in called to verify, but the second store couldn't find any of the 9. Imagine that. Think any employees have new video cards? Wonder what the eBay price is going to do.

The "manager" for the department told me that even though the card was advertised in their weekly ad (though at $249) since he was out of stock he had no further obligation to me. "We can only stock so many". Of course, no raincheck since NOW he says it's a clearance item. No substitution either. I told him I'd take a 6800GT for the sale price and he looked at me like I was nuts.

I'm filing a complaint with the FTC.

You know, even though I lurk here I honestly don't fit the "devil" definition. Clueless customer service lost BB another customer.

Hey man, employees have every right to purchase stuff. Sure, it's annoying when they snatch the last item or buy a few to sell on eBay, but come on, they're there, they're gonna grab it. Nothing wrong with that.
