So everyone is gooshing over the X800GTO^2, but from what I understand the X800GTO might be unlockable too? What's the story on this? Save a few $$$ on that bad boy! TIA!

I've heard nothing about the GTO unlocking. Got a link to where you saw a discussion about it?

You flashed the GTO or the GTO2?

I have the same question. The GTO2 is pretty expensive here in Europe, around 249 ? (300 US), while the GTO's are around 200 ? (240 US).
For 249?, I can buy a new X800XT and overclock it, it is less risky.

Sapphire has 3 types of GTO's:

1) Barebones (slower ram)
2) Ultimate (passive cooling)
3) Fireblade (faster ram 1.6ns)

I would like to pick a Fireblade and stick to my lan box also, but only if I can unlock the 4 pipes. I don't wanna buy and miss it.

Anyone tried the GTOs?

I did see over TechPowerUp (whatever it's called) that the GTOs are not unlockable, it's just the GTO2 cards. Sorry guys.
