X800GTO questions

how hot is too hot for the X800GTO? Also, what is the MINIMUM wattage that a power supply can have while running a X800GTO.

I run my GTOon a 300w and its overclocked to 550/550 a VGA Silencer 5 is a must !!! The temps went from stock idle/ load ? 58/70 to 38/57
I also run a Dual X2 3800+ at 2.4Ghz ^_^ before that I ran an overclocked 6800GT all on the 300w micro atx generic power supply over 2 years and still going strong.

videoclone do you have the connect3d gto unlocked? i'm curious to know which was better the unlocked gto or the 6800 gt because i'm not sure i want the connect3d or the 6800gs. i'll pm you with more questions if it's ok.

anything above 60 is probably in the danger zone

Nah, I'd say as long as it's under 70, you're ok. Some cards reach 80 on stock cooling and stock clock speeds, but that's pushing it. But the gto is an awesome card when unlocked and OC'd, some can OC beyond XT PE speeds.

Anything over 60 ?? for GPU's the danger zone is 90 not 60 your thinking CPU's here now thats 60 🙂

I had a Gainward 6800GT GS .. Default at Ultra speeds and it was a little faster then this X800GTO ... on half life 2 i see the performance drop most when turning on HDR the 6800 did a better job but all in all they arse close in real world performance " ONLY after the X800GTO's overclocked that is....

It's not the connect 3D its the sapphire one! 🙂 At the end of the day the one thats cheaper is the one you should buy! 6800GS or X800GTO
