Missing The Overclocker Feature In Control Panel in newest drivers. Anyone know why I don't have them there? I'm curious what my temps are and that's the tab I need to see it. Thanks

If you are referring to Overdrive, it is only in the catalyst control center, not the classic control panel.

Are you using the catalyst control center? There are 2 versions of the control panel, the classic and the catalyst control center. The classic does not have overdrive in it. Go to ATI's website and download the latest drivers with the "catalyst control center", ATI said they won't add any new features to the old control panel anymore but they still offer it and it is decievingly the top options for drivers :/

Uninstall all your ATI stuff and download the new 5.2 drivers w/ CCC (Catalst Contol Center).

tried that, still didn't get the overdrive option. also, the 5.2's gave me bad stability. 3d mark crashed at the very end, tiger woods 2k5 crashes. had to remove and put back 5.1's. any other suggestions?

Well I'm at a loss, it's there... Does your control panel look like this? If you have an XT card, Overdrive would be on the bottom in the graphics settings list.

no, bought it in a retail box. forgot the name of the place, going look it up.

edit: think it was PC Progress. Is there anyway to tell if it was flashed from a non XT?

edit2: i don't think it's a non xt pe, simply because my bro has an exact card, except his is agp, and mine actually beats his in fps.

Those last two optioins are just for mobile parts anyway. Overdrive would have the same symbol as the "performace" option though; as to why you would not get it, I don't have a clue. But if it makes you feel any better, it only clocks the core up 6mhz anway.

I am at a complete loss. It shows up on mine, not that I use it. They recommend not using it.

well actually, the main reason i want it is to check the temps since i had high temps with my 9800xt. the actual overdrive feature isn't the main concern, although i probably would use it anyway if my temps were good enough. any other ideas?

Those 9800xt's just plain ran hot, at least mine did. As for checking the temps on the xt-pe, RivaTuner is really the way to go; with it you can leave a monitor open so it graphs your temps over time as well as your fanspeed. That way you can see what the temp really is at peak usage, as just the moment it takes alt-tabing out check the temps will alow them to drop signifigently.

I have a x800 pro flashed to xt pe at PE speeds... it runs flawlessly, but i noticed that overdrive actually causes a drop in 3dmark05... about 40 points, consistantly. Temperatures are 36/62, so i dont think thats the issue... anyone else experience this?

Unless ATI changed the options from when they first released the 5.1 drivers this statement is incorrect. I installed and ran the 5.1 version of the "classic" Control Panel right when it was released and I had the Overdrive option/tab. I hate the look of the Catalyst Control Center and think it is an answer to a non-existant problem (too complicated).

Then, when the Omega 2.605 drivers (modified 5.1s) were released I switched over to the Omegas'. So, like I said unless ATI released and then re-released a second 5.1 classic Control Panel you should see the Overdrive tab/option if your card is a real X800 XT PE.

Heres' a link to the Driver Heaven page where you can download the latest Omegas':

http://www.omegadrivers.net/

EDIT: I am going to be bummed-out when ATI discontinues the classic Control Panel. I really like the clean look of it. Hopfully the Omegas' will continue that same clean appearance.
