X800 XT PE AGP or X800 XL PCI-E ?

Hi.

I got the processor, the tower, everything, except for the Motherboard and the GPU.

I got two choices.

Combination of:

ASUS A8V-Deluxe (AGP) / ATi X800 XT (Maybe PE, still not sure)
ASUS A8V-E Deluxe (PCI-E) / ATi X800 XL

Which one should I get ?

I know the X800 XT (PE) is supposed to be superior, and I think it is indeed, but I'm not sure since the other combo implies the new PCI-E technology.

But I got a question related to PCI-Express.

Is PCI-E actually faster ? Or does it just have the potential to be faster ?

I mean, to use the technology, the bandwidth properly, it's the game developers that must make their game so it uses the potential, or, are the games actually already take advantages of PCI-E ?

Thanks for your time and help.

ya, the XT will be faster, PCIe is not faster at all at this moment.. seeing as going from agp 4x to agp 8x is like 1% difference ( dont know the actual value) from 8x to 16x would be about nil.

I'd go with a X800XL and save 150-200 bucks. Do your research, and find out what brand comes with 1.6ns RAM, so you can overclock to X850XT speeds.
