x800 to 7600gs

in july iam gonna get a new video card, but for now iam stuck with a radeon x800(its getting owned at 12x10 rightnow), anyway, I can get a 7600gs for 30 bucks right now, so, it worth it? or should I just keep waiting?

I would atleast get a 7600GT, preferably a 8x series for future proofing?

I wouldn't. You're making a sideways upgrade, not much improvement. You'd get shader model 3, but not much performance improvement.

Hit up ebay - I just sold an x850xt for $88, and there are even better deals on there as well.

Not worth it, 7600gs is weaker than or equal to x800

Actually the 7600GT matches the X850XT most of the time. If he upgrades from a vanilla X800 to a 7600GT will be a 30% performance increase at most, is not bad, but not that good either. Better go off to a X1950PRO or 7900GS/GT
